It is situated at the backdrop of Bandar punch peak in Uttarkashi district, Yamunotri Temple divinity is Goddess Yamuna who is the daughter of Sun and sister of Yam. Yamunotri Temple was constructed by Tehri Garhwal King Naresh Sudarshan Shah in 1839, later it was rebuilt by Maharani of Jaipur Gularia Devi in the 19th century. The Yamunotri Temple is built with granite stones and has conical-shaped yellow housetops. The key idol of Goddess Yamuna is in the form of an asymmetrical black marble stone present inside the sanctum. Here, the sabha mandap is in the temple along with two hot springs Surya Kund and Gauri Kund. The chief priest of Yamunotri Temple belongs to the Uniyal family of Kharsali village. Yamunotri Temple is open for tourists from April-May to Oct-Nov each year. The Yamunotri temple kapaat is open on Akshaya Tritiya and closed on the second day after Diwali every year. The winter house of Gangotri Dham is in Kharsali village.
- Gangotri Temple: Gangotri Temple is a holy sanctum and one of Char Dham in Uttarakhand. It is situated in Uttarkashi district, on the banks of Bhagirathi River, Gangotri temple is a holy place where Goddess Ganga is worshipped. Gangotri Temple was constructed by Nepalese General Amar Singh Thapa in the 18th century, later it was rebuilt by the Maharaja of Jaipur. The Nagara-style structure of Gangotri Temple is built with white marble stone. Inside the temple, a lovely idol of Goddess Ganga made of marble stone is worshipped. Here is Bhagirathi Shila, a blessed rock that is also worshipped where King Bhagirath did austerity and prayed to Lord Shiva to bring Goddess Ganga in the form of a river. The chief priest belongs to the Semwal family from Mukhwa village. Gangotri Temple is open for pilgrims from April-May to Oct-Nov each year. - Kedarnath Temple: One of the famous shrines of Lord Shiva in Uttarakhand, Kedarnath Temple was originally built by Pandavas in the Mahabharata period and later on rebuilt by Adi Dhankaracharya in the 8-9th century. The idol of Lord Shiva, called lingam, is present in a triangular shape in Kedarnath Dham. Its magnitude is 12 ft in circumference and 12 ft in height. The main hall also has statues of Draupadi and other divinities. The first hall inside the Kedarnath Temple has idols of five Pandavas, Lord Krishna, Nandi, and Virbhadra. The main priest of Kedarnath Temple is called Raval, who belongs to the Veera Shaiva community of Karnataka. The Rawal of Kedarnath does not perform Puja, but he only coached the assistants to perform puja. - Badrinath Temple: A popular Char Dham Temple in Uttarakhand, Badrinath Temple was founded by Adi Dhankaracharya in the 8-9th centuries. The key idol of Lord Vishnu, called Shaligram, is worshipped in the form of Badri Narayan, a demonstration black granite idol. The size of the god is 1 ft and is located in the main sanctum. The sanctum also houses idols of Lord Kuber, Sage Narad, Uddhav, Nar, and Narayan. There is a Sabha mandap and Darshan mandap present inside the Badrinath Temple. The beautiful temple of Badrinath has a main 15 mtr height sanctum with a conical-shaped house-top and a small dome at the top. There is a gold-plated roof with a stone facade and arched windows. He is instructed by Dimri Brahmins, Naid Rawal, Dharmadhikari, Vedpathi, and other priests. Badrinath Temple opens for pilgrims from April-May to Oct-Nov each year. The Badrinath temple kapaat opening date is decided on Basant Panchami and the closing date on Vijayadashami every year. The winter house of Badrinath Dham is at Narsimha Temple in Joshi math.
